I've said some harsh things about Ashton in the past but it's pretty sad really.

Thats really fucking tragic to be honest. He had all the makings of a great player and future WHU legend and would no doubt have gone to be an England regular for sure.

I'm absolutely gutted and just feel really sorry for the guy. To be forced to retire at something you love at 26 is a proper kick in the teeth for anyone.

To me, Kovac is a sub who can come on towards the end of a game to maybe shore things up towards the back. I've yet to see him look overly confident on the ball and though billed as a holding player, he doesn't seem to like being in possession. Diamanti and Jiminez are intelligent and creative players who should be lining up every game. We have to be looking for the 3pts against Everton and it looks like they're having some of our injury luck too.

It was always going to happen. Every club has the right to appeal and, doing so, it was inevitable that this would happen. As it happens I think we have a decent chance of the appeal, given that Chelsea apparently have paperwork from UEFA OKing the deal.

Still, it means if we do try and buy anyone in January we'll be held to ransom by clubs knowing that we still face a ban later in the year. Loving seeing all those who pitching tents at the whole thing having a good old moan...
